Post Commander

I apologize for the lateness of the newsletter. I kind of forgot what month we were in and that I didn’t have as many days as I thought.  (You may proceed with the "Commander is getting old” jokes.)

If you haven’t paid your dues yet, please do so. I know that some of you do not expire until the end of May or June, but we must be 100% for All-State by April 30th.  If you pay your dues now, it does not change your expiration date.  If your expiration date is June 30, 2022, and you pay your dues now your expiration date will be June 30, 2023.  If you are having difficulty paying your dues, please reach out to me or Robin Bailey, Post Quartermaster, and we will help.  Thanks!

YOUR Post continues to move forward and grow. Thank you to all the hard work put in by the volunteers that make this possible.  However, we can always use more help so if you can spare some time, come join the fun.

As I am sure you are all aware, food prices have been steadily going up so I am sure it will be no surprise that our food prices are also going up.  The House Committee held off as long as we could, but it just got to the point where we couldn’t keep going with prices we were charging.  Our food is still the best deal in town, especially for the excellent quality of the meals being prepared.

Please note that in April we will be returning to Taco Tuesdays with $3.00 tacos.  I’m going to miss all those great soups, but they’ll be back next Winter.

On Saturday March 26th we are going to be holding a Spring Fling with the band Easy River Band!  This event will be open to the public and should be a great, fun way to usher in Spring and begin to put Winter behind us.

We will be having our first round of Officer Nominations at our April meeting.  If you want to serve your Post, an elected position is a great way to do just that. We can’t hear your voice unless you come to the meetings.  You be amazed at how many excellent ideas I hear that we can’t use because they weren’t brought up at the meetings, so we made a decision without the benefit of that great idea.  Come to the meetings and participate in the governing of your Post.

Michael Martin

Post Commander

Auxiliary President

Greetings Auxiliary!

Hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy. Reminder to all annual members, if you do not pay your dues soon you will have to reapply for membership all over. If anyone is unable to pay your dues, please let us know and we can assist.

Congratulations to our VOD/PP winners at both the Post and District levels.

Next month will be time for nominations of officers for the coming year.  Our Auxiliary has been growing and we need more participation to fill all the positions. I you can spare 2 hours a month to prepare and attend the monthly meeting that is all it takes.  Such amazing things have happened in our Post and Auxiliary over the last few years, let’s keep it going.  We need all positions filled to keep the Auxiliary Charter. I have been President for three years now and it is time for new leadership at all levels.

I would like to thank Laura Kinne for conducting the meetings while I am away.

Veterans and Family Support

Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family of Corina and Dale Compagner and Ennis Gonzales whose sister Maria Victor passed away in January.   Please keep these families in your thoughts and prayers.

Never forget our troops in harm’s way.  Thank you seems so small for they’ve done.  So, keep them in your hearts and prayers.

Membership

We are near 100%, so members, if you haven’t paid your dues yet I’m asking you to please get them paid.  If you need help, please let Nancy Vredeveld or myself know.
